Voices & Vistas

Voices & Vistas

Over the past month, our traveling campaign team and I have visited all 14 counties in Utah’s 2nd Congressional District—many of them more than once. Redrock. Alfalfa. Skyscrapers. Kane County to Tooele County … and a lot of places in between. We have put in almost 2,000 miles along I-15 and across rutted dirt roads in our effort to reach out to rural voters where they live.

Below are residents in CD2 talking about the issues that are most important to them, ranging from health care to divisions in our country to post offices to the protection of public lands.

I hope you’ll take time to listen to these brief previews of our larger “Voices & Vistas” project.

Kim Langton, Glenwood (pop. 473), Sevier County (1:28).

Lianne Hirst, Manti (pop. 3,614), Sanpete County (2:07).

Peg Smith, Boulder (pop. 240), Garfield County (1:53).

Jeff Saunders, Tooele (pop. 35,251), Tooele County (2:09).

Zachary & Casey Almaguer, Hurricane (pop. 18,205), Washington County (2:04).

Collin Weiss, St George (pop. 87,178), Washington County (1:52).

Michael Poppino, Monroe (pop. 2,275), Sevier County (2:19).

While most of our messages to you by email have been CD2 Trail updates, our campaign is also focused on the important protests in CD2 and our country and larger political issues. We invite you to check regularly our Twitter feed and other social media.

As Mike Poppino says in the video above, “It’s hard to fight anger with peace, but you have to try.”

Thank you for your time and support. We are back on the CD2 Trail next week and will continue to speak out on other matters as we travel another 1000 miles—from Salt Lake City to Kane County and back.
